2012 Bark for Life at Trail de Paris
Many individuals going through the turmoil of Cancer have found comfort in canine companions. Dogs are very sensitive to their owner’s feelings and emotions. The Bark for Life is a fund raising event honoring the life-long contributions of our canine caregivers. It presents an opportunity for people to be empowered through their canine companion partnerships and to contribute to cancer cure through a mission of The American Cancer Society. We were excited to be a part of the event with our female Boston Terrier named Lilly.
Contests aside from the run included best trick, most spirit, best dressed, smallest dog, and biggest dog. People and pets lined up at the starting point dressed to impress. The winners of the run would take home prizes from our local Paris, Texas Petco. The weather got to a few of the doggies so they had to turn back, but when it was all said and done the winners of the 2012 Bark for Life was in 4th place “Leonidas” (owner – Miguel Barbosa), in 3rd “Lily” (owner – Tiffany Page), taking 2nd was “Big Dan & Grendel” (owner – Sarah McNabb), and the winner in 1st place was a cute Corgi named “Zoe” along with her best friend (owner – Bella Green).
