2012 Spirit of Giving Brightens Up the Holidays

The Yuletide is upon us and with that comes the Spirit of Giving. Each year multiple churches, businesses and individuals set up in down town Paris, Texas to spread the spirit among the less fortunate. This year over 20 churches and charitable organizations pitched in to brighten up the holidays for the indigent elderly, sick, and homeless in our community. Attendants were given 4 tickets each to spend at the many booths set up handing out clothing & coats, diapers, food, toys, used appliances, and more. Santa & Mrs. Clause along with the Grinch were sitting beside the Lamar County vintage fire truck for photo ops and wish granting. Over 30 bicycles were given away to grateful kiddos and for some it was their very first two-wheeler! Brock Garrison & his fellow musicians plugged in to perform acoustic Christmas songs to entertain the massive crowd. This joyful celebration of self-sacrifice and giving is exactly what Christmas is all about. The reward that is gained from everyone involved is the best feeling a human soul can ever experience, the innervation of charity.
Coming together as one, WE ARE COMMUNITY!
