“Children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. Every year 3.3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving nearly 6 million children (a report can include multiple children). The United States has the worst record in the industrialized nation – losing five children every day due to abuse-related deaths.”
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Paris is here to decrease those terrible numbers. On February 9, 2013 people from all over the area flocked to the Love Civic Center for an evening of love and charity at the 12th annual Sweetheart Soiree. The place was decorated lavishly by Full Blast Productions & Chapman’s Nauman Florist invoking the spirit of love and giving all around. A delectable dinner & hor d’ oeuvres was served by Crawford’s Hole in the Wall. The crew from Buffalo Joe’s kept the drinks coming and live entertainment was provided by Dallas based band “Motion”. The group of talented musicians was the perfect pick for the evening’s ambiance. Live and Silent auctions had people buzzing around the tables, eager to win their item. The Live auction kicked off around 9pm with a flood of goodies including an autographed basketball & jersey from Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks.
The merriment went on until midnight with music and dance with Motion, and it was definitely a night to remember, bringing hope to the lives of many abused children.
We applaud the Children’s Advocacy Center of Paris for their endeavor to “Work together to change what happens next”.
