3 miles of US 82 in Lamar County To Be Reconstructed in July
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) awarded a contract on US 82 in Lamar County to R.K. Hall Construction, Incorporated for $5,110,378.91. This section of US 82 from CR 42900 (Reno) to CR 13200 (Blossom) has been reconstructed to provide an improved pavement structure with a full width of 84′. A final surface for this roadway should be complete next week. After the new surface is placed, the new roadway will have pavement markings placed. The final roadway will include four 12′ travel lanes, a 16′ turn lane and two 10′ shoulders. If everything goes as planned, once this work is complete, the traffic will be moved over to the new full width pavement. The traffic control will include temporary lane closures during this work.
TxDOT urges the traveling public to take extra caution and observe warning signs during construction of this project. Safety in this work zone is a high priority. People traveling along US 82 need to slow down and be aware of construction activity.
