Big Brothers Big Sisters Glow in the Dark Golf August 24th
Friends, families, companies, and co-workers are meeting at Pine Ridge Golf Course on Friday, August 24th for some Glow in the Dark Golf fun! Big Brothers Big Sisters wants to make golfing more fun than it already is while also raising awareness of the impact one-to-one mentoring has on children in the community. “There will be some friendly competition among the participants as they enjoy playing glow in the dark golf in hopes of raising monies to benefit youth mentoring programs for children,” stated Emily Neeley, Regional Executive Director. “It is a great opportunity to get together with your co-workers, family, and friends while also directly benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters.” The event will begin with registration at 5:00 p.m. Tee-off will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the final 9 holes being “Lights Out Glow Ball”. A meal will be provided to all participants. A cost of $65 per player or $390 per team of 6 people will include green fees, two glow in the dark golf balls per player and a delicious dinner. Businesses may also have the opportunity to sponsor a hole at $100 each that will entitle them to their company name or logo being displayed at the hole’s tee box.
All proceeds will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters in Lamar County. Limited spots are available and will be secured at time of payment. Any golfers who want to participate but who do not have a team of 6 adults will be paired up. The deadline for entries and fee payments is August 20th, provided spots are available. The tournament is limited to the first 9 teams who pay in advance, space will not be saved until payment is received. All attendees are encouraged to bring a flashlight and any glow in the dark items they wish. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners plus bragging rights for the year.
