Blackland Plays Reunion Show at Elks Lodge

This Article Brought To You By:

The Elks Lodge in Paris, Texas is the perfect spot for a night of dancing, drinks, and dinner. On November 4th, 2012 everyone witnessed a long awaited reunion of the band known as Blackland! Consisting of Staley Rogers, Kevin Preston, Derek Jameson, Gary Preston, and fronted by Lanny Teague, Blackland displayed their ability to lock in with each other immediately. Just like riding a bike the boys put the pedal to the metal on familiar songs like “Play That Funky Music”, “Take a Load off Annie”, and “Jack & Diane”. Stoney Musgrove joined the guys on stage for a few and the guys took a pause for the cause.

The second set began with an original song called “Diamonds Last Forever” which I recorded a video of below. The song proves that even off-stage; this band knows exactly what music is supposed to be. Their melody will sweep you out of your chair and on to the dance floor. As the refreshments were served up and the lodge was in good spirits, Blackland gave the crowd a night of music to remember.
