Bryan’s Battle Brigade Benefit

This Article Brought To You By:

Bryan's Battle Brigade Benefit Paris Tx RRV Fairgrounds February 23 2013With friends, family, and loved ones surrounding him, Bryan Rhodes was blessed with a benefit in his honor. The Red River Valley Fairgrounds was filled with people from all around supporting this wonderful man and his family at the “Bryan’s Battle Brigade”. Bryan has been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer and since then has been traveling to MD Anderson for treatment. The expenses have been overwhelming as his wife Vanessa struggles to keep their family afloat. Working at Bonham Hospital, Vanessa had used up all of her sick leave and had been missing too much work from taking care of her husband.  Her co-worker Terri Heaton opened her heart & set out on a mission to bring relief to the Rhodes family with a chili supper and a live concert with Cas Haley. Auction items from countless businesses and individuals were on display in hopes to raise much needed funds including a tool box with tools from Apple Transmission, clothing from Electric Steel Body Jewelry, a meal for 15 from Catering  4 You, and Dr. Comfort Slippers from Paris Apothecary just to name a few. There was even a 1991 Cadillac El Dorado donated by Kenneth Billings that brought in $2,000! The benefit was a success as thousands of dollars were raised to help with costly expenses during Bryan’s treatments.

Vanessa Rhodes would like to say…
“I believe the community has come together to make this happen, my family would like to thank everyone for the time and effort spent. Our family cannot thank you enough. We would also like to give special thanks to Vic Russell for his donation and making it possible to rent the building.”

It is gatherings like this that define community…
