Christmas can be a shopper’s nightmare so the Red River Valley Fair Association has once again opened the gates for stress-free spending and holiday cheer! Christmas in Fair Park has been a tradition in Paris, Texas for many years and brings in vendors from all over the surrounding areas. On November 30th & December 1st everyone was invited to enjoy the festivities. From hand-made quilts & candles to candy & wall décor, there is a little something for everyone on your list. Among the vendors we visited with were Paris Vineyards, Kitchen Craft Cookware, Butterfly Jewels, Vickie Kennedy (Scentsy), Lamar County Leadership, Two Chic, Hobby Habbits, Paparazzi by Shirley, Thredz, Mary Myers, D’s Candles and Yard Art, Pink Zebra, Hands Unlimited, Tupperware consultant Ella Mae Rohmer, Mallary Matney (Avon) and Visalus just to name a few. Various raffles were held throughout the buildings in hopes of raising funds as well as Toys for Tots bringing smiles to many less fortunate. Santa Clause was filled with the spirit of Christmas and countless children had him jolly with laughter as pictures were taken. After the photos with Santa the kiddos were flocking to the bounce houses.
The smell of fried pickles, cotton candy, and kettle corn filled the air as we exited the exhibit buildings. We came across one individual vendor that had a touch of unique culinary flare. Laverne Midyett was set up under the gazebo introducing her family’s 25 year old former slicing secret. The “Country Cutter” is an innovative time saver that will twirl your taters into a tornado of tasty fun!
Paris, Texas has always been about the local dollar staying the local dollar and the Red River Valley Fair Association was the perfect place for the whole family to shop for the season.
