Clayton Watkins Inducted into USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame
Watkins Family Martial Arts Academy has been instilling the discipline and responsibility that comes with the art in our youth since 2002. It’s no wonder why chief instructor Clayton Watkins has recently been inducted into the United States of America Martial Arts Hall of Fame. On August 10th, 2013 hundreds gathered at the Marriot Hotel in Irving, Texas for the ceremony. His name and legacy is now presented alongside many of the greats including Pat Burleson & Bill “Super Foot” Wallace. Clayton couldn’t be more proud to have this honor of Multi Disciplined Master of the Year. We are proud to have him as a positive role model in our community and leader in his field of self-defense. We would like to wish him the best as he goes for his 5th degree black belt on October 3rd, 2013. Watkins Family Martial Arts Academy has so much to offer inside the walls. Stop by, sit in on a class, and you’ll see that it’s more than just learning how to break boards. “We help kids develop focus, fitness and self-worth.” says Watkins. They work with all kinds of students; some even with disorders such as ADD, which martial arts is shown to help improve the symptoms of. On the constantly evolving nature of his area of expertise, he said “Continuing education is the most important part. Following the latest advancements and constantly improving teaching methods helps you learn a better way to teach.” If your young one spends too much time in front of a TV screen, this is the perfect opportunity to break them free from the zombifying effects of video games and cartoons.
