Downtown Paris Texas Kicks Off Holiday Season with Tree Lighting and More

This Article Brought To You By:

It’s that time of the year again! The Holidays bring us all close together and the family festivities all lead up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Paris has officially kicked off the wintery wonder with the annual lighting of our downtown Christmas tree. Turner Pipe constructed the gorgeous start topped tree and with more than 21,000 lights, the tree is a radiant yuletide monument. Hundreds of Parisians flocked to the plaza for the event and awaited Santa’s arrival. Two gorgeous reindeer who we will call Dasher and Dancer were corralled beside Kris Kringle’s workshop for everyone to enjoy. As everyone mingled and shared the feeling of Christmas, it was time for the lighting. On the count of 54321 the enormous tree was illuminated! The Paris Community Choir was bringing the cheer with songs like “Oh Christmas Tree”, “Silver Bells”, and “Silent Night”. The Paris Main Street Historical District’s “Old Fashioned Strollers” were bringing on nostalgia of vintage Christmas. The lighting of the official tree was a congregation of people from all walks of life coming together with joy and laughter in their hearts.

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” – Calvin Coolidge
