Fun for the Whole Family at Relay for Life 2012
There will be so many activities for the family at North Lamar Stadium on June 29th-30th. From fundraisers to themed laps and games, this year’s Relay for Life event will be one to remember! And with only 6 days until the big event, you may find yourself wondering what will be happening at the 2012 Relay for Life of Lamar County.
Here is a list of the many fundraisers that will be going on*:
Bealls is going to sell lollipops and candy. They will also be offering face painting for the kids, and will be holding a raffle for 2 Fragrance Baskets. Brookshire’s will be selling snow cones. Doing it for Ken’s Kids will be selling eggrolls, pickles, strawberry & chocolate cupcakes. The teams for First Federal Community Bank will be selling Relay for Life t-shirts.
Kimberly Clark’s team #1 will be selling hamburgers and baked goods, and team #2 will be holding a raffle for a Taurus 380 Stainless Steel Hand Gun, and team #3 will be holding a Memory Quilt Raffle. You can buy a square for $5 and decorate it or pay $5 to be entered in the raffle.
Kroger will be selling hotdogs and holding a raffle for a Grill & $30 Gift Card. Paris Regional Medical Center will be selling food and offering face painting, for the kids. People’s bank will be offering hotdogs, Cancer Bracelets, and holding a raffle for 2 gift baskets. PHG will have cotton candy. Texas Oncology will have Frito pies, nachos, and water. The T-Shirt Shoppe will be selling T-shirts, Tote Bags, and Glow Sticks. Well Warriors will have popcorn, and Wendy’s Warriors will have watermelon.
Every penny raised by the Relay for Life teams goes to the American Cancer Society, to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients.
Here are some of the activities for that night*:
Bealls is having a Mario Cart event. Brookshire’s will be shaving their manager’s head and holding a Scavenger Hunt. Doing it for Ken’s Kids is holding a Bag Lady Game. First Federal Community Bank team #1 is going to have a reverse lap on the track. First Federal Community Bank team #2 will be having a Hokey Pokey Lap.
Kimberly Clark team #1 will be holding a Bubble Gum Race Car Workshop (great for the kids!) and team #2 will be holding a Huggies Diaper Dash. Kroger will be holding a Mock Jail that night. Texas Oncology will hold Tricycle Races. The T-Shirt Shoppe will have a Limbo Lap. Wyatt Bowden will be holding an Angry Birds Game.

From Guaranty Bond Bank is Kenny Dority. Ellsworth Corbett will be representing Brookshire’s. First Federal Community Bank team #1 will be represented by Michael McLaughlin and team #2 will be represented by Bow Willis. Joe Parris will compete for Kimberly Clark. Caleb Gladd will be stepping up for Paris Regional Medical Center. Andrew Thrasher will be representing The T-Shirt Shoppe. Casey Gilbert will be stepping up to represent Well Warriors.
