George Robinson Memorial Chili Cook-Off Kicks Off 2012 Fair

The George Robinson Memorial Chili Cook-Off sponsored by 1st Federal Community Bank was held on 9-22-2012. The air smelled of chili and spice at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds as teams cooked their secret recipes to turn in to the judges in hopes of winning 1st place. That title went to Steve Heaser of Dallas, Tx in the overall category. Local first place winner was Jonnie Henry, and the best showmanship was the Time Flies, B.A. Sessums team. Some of the chili names that were being prepared included, Steve’s Auto Repair, Jaxx Burgers, Time Flies, Giffords Crabtree, Crapshoot, Parrot Head, Outhouse Chili, Roadwarrior Roadkill, Last Minute, and Cha Ching. Bo Prewitt came all the way from North Little Rock, Arkansas for the chance to win.
