Cajun cuisine, live entertainment, and delicious drinks, all for a good cause! On March 1st, 2013 the Lamar County Human Resources Council celebrated their annual “MARDI GRAS”! Benefiting Meals on Wheels and many other LCHRC endeavors, the party was in full effect! It all kicked off at 7pm with an unbelievable dinner served by Catering 4 You and the Silent Auction began. Items from many local businesses and individuals were on display including Watkins Family Martial Arts, That Guy’s Coffee, the Paris Blues Society, Main Trading Company, Chris Gunn Events, and the Paris News just to name a few. A Live Auction had many digging deep to win cool stuff from PBR, the Dallas Stars, Paris Coffee Company, Rio Rojo Ranch, an 18ft Trailer from Lamar Trailers, and much more! As everyone settled in for a night of charity, “The Tank” was filling up as some were paying to have their friends locked up! Live music provided by David Whiteman & the Experience had the dance-floor on fire. We would like to thank everyone involved in making this an amazing event. The funds raised will go towards making Lamar County a better place for many of our citizens.
The Lamar County Human Resources Council Inc. originated in the late 1960s and became incorporated in 1975. They are dedicated to developing human resources throughout all of Lamar County. The LCHRC seeks to coordinate existing services and initiate future programs based on the human resources needs in the Lamar County Community.
