It has been a while since I laughed until my face hurt, and on January 11, 2013 Paris, Texas was in for a hysterical evening of comedy! Kicking off Open Mic, LMAO Comedy welcomed everyone to the Laffin for minor league hilarity. Daryl Felsberg played host to a handful of fresh & talented comics.
Up first was local media personality, Kenny Clark. This jokester is a jack of all trades when it comes to entertainment. Accompanied by Jeremy Phifer, Kenny sparked up laughter as he rolled through his material like a pro. His set was way too “Short”! Daryl then came back on the mic with a joke about Bert & Ernie aimed at Kenny and had the audience rolling. With everyone in stitches, he welcomed the next entertainer to the stage. Hailing from Tyler, Texas, Brandon “The DILF” Davidson delivered his set with laughs galore. The tables were rocking as he smacked the Laffin with a fist full of comedy. The place was riled up as the next performer stepped into the light. Sheila Gay is an incredibly funny female with an attitude. She displayed comical confidence as she had the crowd in the palm of her hand. It was smooth sailing as Daryl passed it off to Cheryl Larue! Feeling right at home this newcomer blasted her version of facetiousness. Open Mic night was a riot as the next comedian made his way to the stage. Lucas Robertson brought his “A game” and with a serious look on his face he shocked us all with a giggle grabbing set. In the supporting slot was a 3rd timer! What better name to have than the name of the city that you live in? Tyler Elliot from Tyler, Texas showed the club that there is humor to be found in the Bible Belt. The Laffin was in tears as Mr. Elliot dealt his hand of whimsy. Last and not least was JD Marrs. A familiar face to the area, JD grabbed a stool and injected the crowd with his brilliant banter! Last seen at the New Years’ Eve bash, Marrs returned to entertain everyone with his twisted toilet humor! Daryl ended the night as he thanked the many sponsors that keep the Laffin the ultimate comedy hotspot.
It was a night to remember as OPEN MIC NIGHT was a hit! I think we may be on to something, Paris!
