Mad Max Mud Run 2013 Challenges Young & Old
“To rival some of the best in Texas, Mad Max Mud Run in Paris Texas is an annual event with a military type obstacle course, designed to challenge even the best!” This year was intense as hundreds of registrants lined up to tackle the brutal 18 obstacle 5k run. InParisTexas.com was right in the middle of the muddy fun! Benefiting the Lamar County Coalition of Education Business and Industry, runners gained self confidence, endurance, and a sense of charity. Activities like “Tug of War”, “Minute to Win It”,and a scavenger hunt were just a few of the happenings throughout the day. The run heats began at 9am with a warm-up with Paris Jazzercise and Ages 14& up were welcome to participate in the run at their own pace. We were on scene to witness the first finisher and with no surprise for the second year Gable McDaniel a Junior at Paris High School came through the archway with an amazing time of 41 minutes. The Mad Max Mud Run was a challenge for the mind and body of everyone that left the starting gate. With determination in their hearts and seeing the finish line with every breath, the tenacious trekkers tasted personal victory one by one at the Mad Max Mud Run. Who knows what next year brings as this yearly mud run grows in numbers!
