Maurice’s Holds Makeover Party

Maurice’s in Paris, Texas opened their doors to invite victims of domestic violence to a makeover party! Currently there are over 3 million reported cases in the United States per year. 1 in 4 women have experienced domestic violence in their lifetime. 15% of these cases involved male victims. The bruises heal but the pain is always there. On October 28th, 2012 Rockabilly Rage Hair Studio, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Maurice’s teamed up with Safe-T in order to bring out the beauty in several local ladies. We were introduced to Naomi Morley, the Prevention Education coordinator for Safe-T and confirmed our invitation to sit in on the gathering. Several of the ladies allowed us to include them in our article. Cynthia Norris, Deanna Clark, Kathy Pruitt, Stacy Cady, and Victoria Gillean were more than happy to share the photos of their makeover with our readers. While Laura Hickman from Mary Kay worked her magic, Rebecca Foreman, Jamie Haley, & Kaleigh O’Neal from Rockabilly Rage glamourized the ladies hair! Shining a light into the dark, everyone involved in this endeavor are a blessing to our community. We applaud Hailey McIntire, Shelby Shaw, and Maurice’s store Manager Randi Chaverria for holding this wonderful event and putting joy into the hearts of these courageous women. Safe-T’s mission is to create an environment where violence and abuse are not tolerated in the communities they serve. Abuse diminishes the full expression of life which is every person’s right.
