New Hope Center of Paris is shining a light into the dark by helping women & children transition into a new life! On November 3rd, 2012 New Hope invited the public to be a part of their endeavor. For the past few months the organization has been selling raffle tickets for a 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The annual fundraiser held at the Red River Valley Fair Grounds was full of open hearted individuals that we ecstatic about being a part of this much needed charity. Hot dogs and drinks were served as Frank Poye & Company blasted out the bluegrass tunes. There was even a carnival style photo booth collecting funds! We spoke with Executive Director Gay Ballew about the event and she couldn’t have been happier with the way the community has embraced the New Hope Center.
The center provides shelter for approximately 20 women and 14 children and their goal is to be able to help more. All proceeds from the event went to their daily task of making sure that people in need of a new start have a starting point.
New Hope’s Mission is to provide a home of hope and direction for those who find themselves in life altering circumstances due to life situations that are out of control or poor choices. The goal is to instill self-respect and dignity by emotionally, physically and spiritually ministering to those in need.
Giving a hand up…Not a handout!
The winner for the New Hope Harley Davidson Motorcycle raffle is James Casey Greenhaw.Recently his truck blew up and he has been driving around a truck that he is borrowing. What a blessing he has received during a period of hard times.
