Paris Live Open Mic Travels to Cowboy Hall of Fame

The Ft. Worth Stockyards remind us of our rich southern history, and the long journey our ancestors traveled to bring us to modern day Texas. The Paris Live Open Mic crew recently traveled to visit The Cowboy Hall of Fame located in the heart of the country cultured area, for a magical performance featuring Gary Morris on his “If You Were Mine” tour. Ever since the recent interview with Gary on Paris Live Open Mic, our team has had the chance to get to know the multi-talented troubadour as well as his inspiring down to earth approach to music.

To kick off the evening of acoustic melody was a couple of guys out of Lockhart Texas sporting the name “Curtis & Luckey”. The powerful duo brought hands together with harmony and their guitar driven delight. Normally the guys play with their full band but this evening wasn’t about lights, or sound boards. It was all about the subtlety of unplugged music. Our favorite tune of the set and PLOM pick off of the album entitled “The Hard Way” is called Blindsided. We can’t wait to see the guys rocking out with the full band!

We were treated like one of the family at The Cowboy Hall of Fame and their staff worked impeccably hard to insure that every guest felt right at home.

Gary wasted no time at all as he strapped on his six-string excited to be back home and performing in front of his adoring fans, family, and friends. The Grammy Award winning artist has the ability to draw you into his musical story with every pluck of a string and crescendo of his voice. Laughing with everyone about the trials of life (as if right in his own living room), Gary lit up the stage with his charm and warm song. Among the many great numbers in his set were “100 Percent Chance of Rain”, “Wind Beneath My Wings”, and a sneak peek at a new song called “Love Me For What I Aint”. All of the proceeds raised from this epic concert went to The Children’s Educational Fund because it starts with the present of our children in order to bring forth a better tomorrow.

We were ecstatic to be a part of this celebration of music surrounded by the many artifacts of the south in The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.

InParisTexas.com & Paris Live Open Mic would like to thank Gary Morris and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame for making this a night to remember.
