Resurfacing on FM195 to begin on Saturday

The resurfacing phase for the FM 195 pavement repair project will begin Saturday, November 9, 2013, causing some temporary lane closures. Road work in Lamar County on FM 195 will start 5.2 miles North of Loop 286 and end two miles South of FM 906, for a total length of approximately five miles. The resurfacing work will take about a week to complete, depending on weather. Once the new surface is placed, crews will stripe the lanes and install raised pavement markers.

This work will be performed during the day and will require temporary lane closures.  Drivers should be aware of flagmen directing traffic. It is very important that all traffic signs are obeyed. This work involves many people and several pieces of heavy equipment.  For both the safety of drivers and workers, TxDOT asks drivers to slow down and avoid all distractions.

Access to adjacent properties will be maintained throughout the duration of the work.

TxDOT awarded this construction contract to Texana Land & Asphalt, Inc. of Sulphur Springs, Texas for $1,632,328.37.  RK Hall Construction of Paris is the subcontractor resurfacing the roadway.

Safety is a priority in this work zone, and TxDOT urges drivers to observe warning signs during the construction of this project. It is TxDOT’s mission to work with others to provide safe and reliable transportation solutions for Texas.
