The Dylan’s Drivers 1st annual Rides for a Reason 2012 event was held on Saturday, September 22, 2012. There were many things for local Paris Texas folks to see and do at the event. The day kicked off with a 5K Run/Walk and a Softball tournament. Other events happened throughout the day as Paris folks enjoyed the beautiful weather and offerings of the many volunteers.
The kids area was full of activities including bounce houses, photos with the Paris Firemen, Sparky the Fire Department’s remote control fire dog, face painting, and a photo booth run by the Prairieland Cheerleaders.
Close by the kids area was a stage with live music featuring artists such as Zack Jones, Michael O’ Neal, Ryan Booth, Justin Rosson, and Trey Rosenthal.
The Rumble for a Reason car show offered many classic and souped up cars for people to look at and vote for their favorites.
35-40 bikes took part in the Memorial Bike ride taking them all over Paris, the bikes returned in time to enjoy the rest of the day and its many activities.
A hamburger cook-off was held with over a dozen teams competing. Teams included Ranger Burgers, Firehouse Burgers, 1st Federal Fiesta Loco, Hargis Electric, Greater Paris Rotary Club, James Hodge Dodge, Honda of Paris, Full House, Advance Automotive, Cypress, Home Helpers, and Paris Chevrolet. The winner of the Hamburger Cook Off was Cayton Flippen, with Hargis Electric taking best decorated.
Carter Bloodcare was on the premises taking blood donations. With this many activities and Parisians coming to an event it should only be called a success. The real success comes in Dylan’s Drivers and the over 800 rides they have given to help keep our roads safe. All proceeds from today’s event went to support this great cause. InParisTexas.com would like to send out a big thank you for what they do for our community.
