It’s that time of the year again! The Santa Paws Dog Dash held in downtown Paris, Texas was full of animal lovers proudly supporting the Lamar County Humane Association and the Salvation Army. The annual event brings K-9s from all over the area to compete in a fashion show, 5k fun run, and a 1 mile walk. Runners were encouraged to register with all proceeds going to these two charitable causes. T-Shirts were guaranteed to all registrants. Prizes were given for best dressed pet and best dressed runners, including awards for overall male and female runners, as well as masters (over 40) and youngest participant. PETCO was on scene to show support and give out prizes along with Cheri Bedford.
As the dogs and owners raced around the corner everyone strutted around displaying their adorable pets. Crossing the finish line first was Brittany Creamer, just behind her was Brent Wilburn, and in 3rd was Helen Mosher. The dogs seemed to handle the trot way better than their masters as they seemed to want to keep going past the finish line! We were excited to be a part of this year’s Santa Paws Dog Dash and can’t wait to see what is in store for next year.
