Starting a Small Business in Paris Texas
Are you looking for guidance to start a new and profitable business in our town of Paris? The Paris Small Business Development Center is just the place to go. With free counseling and training available, the knowledgeable team at the SBDC is ready to help you start a new small business or expand on an existing growing business.
Some things to think about when wanting to start a small business are the size of Paris, the interest of Paris customers, and your focus group. In addition, when starting a business, you need to have 6-48 months savings of all your expenses (mortgage, utilities, bills, etc) saved up because depending how well your business picks up will determine how fast your profit begins coming in.
To get started, the “Live the Dream” workshop is free and then other workshops are offered for a small fee to help keep things going. In addition to these workshops, the SBDC received a grant from the Texas Workforce Commission which is in the contract phase. Beginning in July through August 2012, eligible entrepreneurs (business owners only) can receive free training through the grant. The SBDC will also be adding ten new modules, five for new businesses and five for existing businesses. Workshops may include hiring, negotiating, and technology. To find out if you are an eligible entrepreneur, call Pat Bell at the Paris SBDC.
You can also check out the online workshops at www.ed-2-go.com and visit the Paris SBDC for brochures, extra information, and free counseling!
