This Article Brought To You By:

Lamar-County-Young-LifeIn a world that gives some teenagers a bad rap, Young Life is bringing out the positive side of today’s young people and pointing them toward a hopeful future. A growing group of local high school students is actively participating in Lamar County Young Life. Every Monday at 7:27, about 85 youth are filling the club room for live music, messy games and silly skits. Through weekly meetings, small groups, summer camps, weekend excursions and one-on-one time with an adult leader, Young Life leaders build unconditional relationships with teenagers and model God’s love. In addition to the organized meeting times, leaders are attending sporting events, eating lunch with kids at Paris and North Lamar High Schools and even tailgating at football games.

Young Life is at work with young people in Lamar County – being available to kids, providing fun, safe and comfortable gatherings, giving kids the right to be heard, and communicating God’s love in terms these students can understand. The support committee for Lamar County Young Life will host a fund-raising dinner banquet for adults interested in learning more about this outreach to middle and high school students with silent auction at 6:15 pm and dinner and program at 7:00 pm, February 7th at Love Civic Center. All are welcome to attend. For reservations, call Area Director Luke Finch at (940) 224-9855.

The Young Life banquet is a wonderful way to enjoy excellent food, entertainment and learn more about how you can support this fantastic organization that has made an impact on middle and high school students in Lamar County for 25 years. Luke Finch will be speaking at the banquet and explaining more of our mission. Luke graduated from Texas A&M University in 2011 and has been the Lamar County Young Life area director ever since. Luke’s heart for reaching students will give all who attend an incredible illustration of the mission of Young Life and its impact on kids around the world.

Young Life is a worldwide organization for middle, high school and college students. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them – fun, adventure and friendship. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we think matters most of all – the truth about God and His love for us. Founded in 1941, Young Life has more than 3,000 staff and 30,000 volunteers and is active in more than 75 countries reaching more than one million kids annually. Young Life leaders bring more than 100,000 kids each year to one of our 32 camping properties worldwide.
