Thanksgiving Blessings at Christians in Action

The holidays have a way of bringing out the charitable spirit in us all. For over 30 years our local Christians in Action has been inviting countless indigent and senior citizens to the annual Thanksgiving feast. This year’s gathering was nearly cancelled due to funding issues. When local owner of Creative Candy Designs Melissa Wickersham & her friend Tara Lamendola heard this they then contacted the CEO of Paris Regional Medical Center and ┬áthe response was overwhelming. Melissa has been volunteering serving the less fortunate from the age of 15 and this year was a big one she says. Plates were filled with all of the Turkey Day trimmings as hundreds sat down for a much appreciated meal. Grace was said giving thanks for the ability to come together to give thanks for countless blessings. would like to give thanks to Melissa, Tara,Paris Regional Medical Center, and all of the serving volunteers for keeping this annual celebration going for everyone and anyone that has seen better days in our community.

Happy Thanksgiving!
