True Artists Showcased at That Guy’s Coffee
That Guy’s Coffee has proven to be the most intimate venue to witness melodic musical talent. On August 4th 2012 people from all over the area packed the listening room to witness the magic of three artists. The Singer Songwriter Showcase was a night of acoustical merriment. Opening the evening was a gorgeous troubadour named Elle Hussey. Her blend of original heartfelt music reached into your soul with vibrant vocal sunbeams. Her sultry set included “Comatose”, and current hit on Paris Live Open Mic “Honey”. She also had a treat in store with a rendition of “St. James Infirmary” by Louis Armstrong. We wish Elle the best of luck as she will be heading back toward Nashville to further her musical pursuit.
Next up on the newly remodeled stage was a gentleman that has been blessed with an unmatchable voice. Tyler Merriman made his way back to Paris Texas from Austin to bring us the joy of his song. He displayed his craft entrancingly. Original Songs like “Restless Age “and “St. Anne’s Souvenir” exposed his passion for the art of balladry. He surprised everyone with his own version of “Vincent” by Don Mclean. Tyler tells a story with every piece he presents and we were blown away by his set.
The headlining act of the evening came home from a tour in Amsterdam bringing back a sense of culture and chorus. Lake Montgomery has the ability to pull you into her world of true to life harmony. The amazing singer/songwriter invited everyone for a glimpse inside her mind as she delivered guitar driven originality. Mrs. Montgomery played magnificently ending the night with a smile. Among the many outstanding tracks from her set were “Time Bomb” and “Lonely”. Lake has been traveling all over the world to introduce her soulful sound to the masses. From New Orleans & San Francisco to Tucson & St. Louis, she found herself right at home wherever she ended up, but she will forever be rooted to Paris, Texas.
Wish Elle Hussey the best
