UTURN Give Backpack 2012 Helps Local Students

When it comes to “Back to School” parents are serious! The youth group of The United Pentecostal Church of Paris (UTURN Student Ministries), has joined in an effort to make the financial burden of school supplies bearable for many Parisians. This amazing group of crusaders has pulled together to breathe relief into the lives of the less fortunate. On Saturday August 18th 2012 thousands of people flocked to the United Pentecostal Church in Paris, Texas to enjoy the festivities of “Back to School” and free drinks, hotdogs, and popcorn. Many local businesses including J&L Paving and Guaranty Bond Bank donated to this heartfelt cause. As people poured in to the auditorium, they were signed up to register to win backpacks filled with school supplies. With laughter in the air you could feel God’s presence. The old saying goes, “”It takes a whole village to raise a child”. That is exactly what being in a community is all about.
We commend the (UTURN Student Ministries) & the United Pentecostal Church of Paris for this wonderful display of Christianity and selflessness in these times of hardship.
