The YWCA Paris and Lamar County along with the KEYS Program held an informative and educational Job Fair on September 11th, 2012. The Love Civic Center was packed with eager applicants hoping to find the perfect field of work. The Keys program opens doors for success through intensive employment and life skills counseling. Many local and national organizations set up to meet and greet future potential employees. Attendants also sat in on informative lectures from job placement specialists. Tips on how to communicate your best image, sending good signals, communicating attitudes, handling difficult questions, Finish Strong, and following up on interviews gave many job hopefuls skills that they may not have had prior to the meeting.
Among the many businesses & organizations booths were:
- Experience Works
- Paris Junior College
- North Texas Food Bank
- Turner Industries
- Texas Department of Public Safety
- Workforce Solutions
- Advance America
- Dollar General
- CASA For Kids
- Visiting Angels
- Texas Department of Criminal Justice
As the day rolled on, many other organizations were setting up in hopes to find that perfect employee!
We would like to give special thanks to Charla Farmer (Director of Women’s Services at the YWCA) for her on going endeavor of providing beneficial services to our community.
