Zoo Experience Near Paris Texas: Jan-Kay Ranch
Today the InParisTexas.com crew had the privilege to get up close and personal with the exotic animals of Jan Kay Ranch! DeWayne Nance, the head animal supervisor and grounds keeper met with us to show InParisTexas.com and its readers the amazing animals that are only 17 miles from Paris Texas, in Detroit. The Christian encampment is now open to the public! For only 4 dollars per adult, and 3 dollars for kids you can have this awesome experience as well! Besides the beautiful landscapes and trees you will see over 250 of the most majestic animals in the nation including… two beautiful Bengal tigers, a Gorgeous male lion, multiple species of monkeys, camels, three lively black bears named Mork Mindy and Bruno, Mork and Mindy have been at the Ranch for over 25 years, also a huge family of kangaroo, buffalo, zebra, and among others the star attraction is a breathtaking Rhinoceros named “Ripper”! The friendly staff at Jan Kay Ranch welcomes the summer times curious Fun seekers and animals lovers to come on out and experience this rare chance to explore everything that the Ranch has to offer! Children of all ages and adults are welcome. The campgrounds, Swimming pool, paddle boats and water slide are limited to church groups but the animals are here for all to enjoy! The staff is only 3 members in the off-season, and about 12 in the summer. Mr. Reger opened Jan Kay Ranch years ago so that children would have the opportunity to see the magnificent creatures that God created!
